It's Never Too Late to Start Jiu-Jitsu!
Some people think that if they start too late in life, it will be more difficult for them to be on the same skill level as their classmates.
This is a myth because, better or worse, everyone has to work hard and train consistently.
Many people make excuses and think they don’t have enough time to commit to a sport like Jiu-Jitsu.
Only you can make the decision and commitment to reach your goal with the help of your Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach.
I have a question for those interested in competing.
What’s the point of waiting?
If you want to compete, what’s stopping you? You’ll never know how good you would have been had you started.
Once you’re in your forties, it can be tough to learn a new physical activity. But there’s no better feeling than being able to teach your kids a jiu-jitsu move while they’re teaching you one back.
The best way to start is by joining a beginner’s class and learning the basics. The instructor will teach you some fundamentals and show how the basics work with different levels of strength and flexibility. As your skills improve, so will your ability to defend yourself.
The benefits of starting Jiu-Jitsu are countless:
1- Obvious physical benefits.
2- It is a great way to relieve stress.
3- Improve your mental health.
4- Jiu-Jitsu will help you stay in shape, lose weight.
5- Increase self-confidence by facing challenges.
Some benefits of starting jiu-jitsu at a later age are:
1- You’ll be able to train longer.
2- You’re more likely to become more disciplined and dedicated to your goals.
3- Jiu-jitsu can also help build muscle tone and bone density.
4- Decreasing blood pressure, and reducing cholesterol.
So no matter if you’re 16 or 66, age isn’t as crucial as how committed you are to your goals!
It may not be too late because jiu-jitsu offers many benefits. You’ll be surprised to find out some students join in their 60s. Why wait?
